Georgetown University COMMENTS
CCTV
Everyone loves being a bulldog and yes, there is a sophistication here that is uniquely Georgetown. Not only are you among the elite if you can get in, but students tend to be wealthier than most- not just with money, but culturally many students have lived abroad and even more possess extensive knowledge of at least one other language besides English. The environment is a bit cutthroat, but that's the nature of DC and students' ambition is a large determinant in what they stand to gain.
The Prudent Student (October 7, 2009)
The University of Notre Dame is not the only Catholic university having some issues with the Obama administration. Officials at Georgetown University covered a monogram symbolizing the name of Jesus because it was inscribed on a stage where the president spoke Tuesday. The White House asked for all symbols to be covered at the lecture hall. The monogram "IHS" comes from the Greek abbreviation for Jesus Christ. Georgetown was forced to cover up the monogram with a triangle of black-painted plywood.
Catholic League president Bill Donohue was not happy with neither Georgetown nor the Obama administration:
"The cowardice of Georgetown to stand fast on principle tells us more than we need to know... but the bigger story is the audacity of the Obama administration to ask a religious school to neuter itself before the president speaks there."

D.C. is the best city. It's great for what I'm studying and has a million things to do and places to go.
